On my way home from work today with my iPod in my ear, the perfect song began to play that summarized my mood. I won't bore you with the all of the lyrics, but just highlight my favorite part of the song. Its words remind us to never forget that spring always follows winter.
Excerpt from "The Rose"
Performed by Bette Midler
Lyrics by Amanda McBroom
When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong,
Just remember, in the winter,
Far beneath the bitter snow,
Lies the seed that with the sun's love
In the spring becomes the rose.
